Harland & Wolff

The names Edward Harland and Gustav Wolff are closely linked with Belfast’s ship building industry.  Their partnership in 1861 laid the foundations for what was to become one of the greatest shipyards in the world.

Throughout its lifetime the Harland and Wolff shipyard produced over 1,700 vessels and at its peak, employed a workforce of 35,000.
