1st Class Parlour Suite B59

First class parlour suite B59, Titanic, Belfast, March 1912.

The first class accommodation on Titanic was decorated in a variety of historic styles.  However, in order to save space, Titanic’s decorators wisely used the simpler Neo-Classic styles in most of the suites, such as Adams, Chippendale and French ‘Empire’.

"It is impossible to adequately describe the decorations in the passenger accommodation…. They are on a scale of unprecedented magnificence.  Nothing like them has ever appeared before on the ocean".
